In Kind Contributions
Financial donations to Bay Cove are used to address many different needs for the more than 6,000 people we serve every day across Boston and southeastern Massachusetts. However, there are so many more ways that you can contribute and help these individuals—including the donation of material items that can be of great need and can make a huge difference in the lives of the men and women we serve.
How you can help:
Winter Warmth Donation Drive
Consider spearheading a Winter Warmth Drive at your office or within your social network. For many Bay Cove clients, the winter season can present huge challenges. Warmth often equals safety. Thanks to the generosity of a number of Bay Cove supporters, we have been able to annually provide over 400 clients with winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves.
Donate clothes to The Dresser, Bay Cove’s payment-free clothing boutique. It is open every Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for all Bay Cove clients, and runs completely on gifts from our generous donors. We are constantly accepting clothing to add to our inventory. All kinds of clean, gently-worn items for men and women are welcome—from casual shirts/blouses and pants to more formal attire, suitable for job interviews. We are also always in need of new, packaged men and women’s underwear and socks.
Personal Care Items
Bay Cove serves a large number of homeless individuals, and for these men and women, basic toiletries and personal hygiene items are vitally important. We are happy to accept items like disposable razors, shaving cream, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, mouthwash and more.
Food security is a serious issue for individuals we serve who live below the poverty level. Bay Cove provides multiple meals to hundreds of people every day. If you are interested providing nutritional assistance to in-need members of the community, this can be done by donating grocery store gift cards, or perhaps by providing menu items for our Cookin’ with CASPAR program at our Emergency Services Shelter (see Volunteer page).
General In-Kind Donations
Moving? Spring cleaning? If you find yourself with books, shoes, clothes or furniture that you do not need, please reach out. These items can often find new homes in Bay Cove programs, where they will be used and enjoyed by others.
