Supported Living Programs
Bay Cove offers supports to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities who live independently, as well as to families looking to enhance independence and opportunities for loved ones with a disability living in the family home. The degree of service provided by our organization is different for each individual we work with, and all supports are designed to help promote a person’s dignity and independence.
Our Individual Support program provides daily support and education to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities living independently in their community. We provide an array of services such as assistance in procuring and maintaining housing, budget management, leadership training, advocacy for quality medical care, and psychiatric treatment, including risk reduction. Services are offered in a manner that is sensitive, respectful and responsive to each individual’s culture, language, lifestyle and personal preferences. Our staff provides up to 15 hours per week of individualized case management or direct care, as needed, and the program offers an on-call system for after hours and weekends for emergencies, advice and supports around critical issues.
Family & Parent Support
Families caring for a loved one with a psychiatric or developmental disability can join a community of those who’ve experienced such challenges firsthand. Our Family Support services help families negotiate the difficulties that come with caring for a disabled family member in the home, while also offering aid in accessing available services and public assistance. We also offer Parent Support, in which moms and dads can consult with others parents of children with disabilities in a safe, confidential environment; receive one-on-one support from a Parent Partner; take a variety of trainings based on the needs of the particular parent or child; gain access to a lending resource library, and much more.
